I don't really know why you'd be here. I mean, I know I'm the single most interesting person, but don't you people have lives? Really, it's quite sad.

Five Months

Wow. I'm five months along already. It has been a crazy few weeks. We have been in Texas now for about a month and have already gone hiking a couple of times and camping, and we have plans to go camping again next weekend--we bought a new tent.
It's a family tent.

The past two weeks have been crazy with work for me, especially last week when each one of us on direct to client (DTC) status had a 2.5-3 hour file of meetings of 6-8 people who never introduced themselves. Plus all the regular work that came in on top of that. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to a long, relaxing weekend of sitting around a campfire (hopefully, if they haven't banned those because of the drought here currently).

Anyway, baby updates.

This picture was taken at almost 20 weeks (4.5 months) when we were out camping a couple of weeks ago.

We're both doing well other than some back pain on my part. I had an ultrasound on Wednesday that Paul got to be there for!! It's one thing for him to be able to take time out of work to be there, but it's an entirely different thing to get out of class for it. His class and instructor, however, told him he needed to be there for it since we'd be finding out the sex.

And the verdict is.....IT'S A GIRL! (And that's a pretty definitive verdict. As a friend of mine put it, she gave us a spread eagle view. )

The first thing Paul said after finding out? "I'm gonna need to buy a bigger gun." (For when she's dating age.)

She is doing well. She's growing like she should and we were able to see all the lobes of the brain and the chambers of the heart and the stomach and kidneys and all the fingers and toes. We even got to see her face a few times but she always turned away before the technician could capture an image of her face for us. She has been getting more active every week and the ultrasound, well, helped that for the day, and also helped us know more where she was sitting and that some of the strange pushing I've had on the right has been her head, not my fibroid!

Anyway, we didn't get a picture with her face, but we did get a pretty good side view, I think, so here you go...

And with that, I must go get to work now that I've figure out how to get this new file format to play.
