I don't really know why you'd be here. I mean, I know I'm the single most interesting person, but don't you people have lives? Really, it's quite sad.

Claustrophobia

There's a reason I don't like living in cities. We've been here just a few hours under 1 week and I'm itching to get out of the city and see something other than buildings. The crazy thing is that we spent 5-6 hours hiking on Saturday and I still feel this way. The park we hiked in, though, was inside San Antonio, and we were too often within view of housing neighborhoods and downtown. I hate to think how crazy I'd be going if we hadn't done that on Saturday. I think it also doesn't help that we aren't staying on post, so I don't get to see the slowed down pace and open spaces of the military world. All I get is constant traffic on I-410 (the inner loop around SA) and airplanes.

We went to church yesterday on post, which was nice. It was the same service Paul went to all last summer, so several people recognized him. It's the early (0800) traditional protestant service, but one of the chaplains is Lutheran, so we feel pretty at home. I think I've pretty much decided to start going to PWOC (Protestant Women of the Chapel) down here to get me out of the hotel at least one day a week and to give me more human interaction than my husband and some of his classmates!

The Main Post Chapel here has a great hymnal, but I don't think you can buy one unless you're a military chapel. It was compiled by chaplains especially for the armed forces. No, Mom, it doesn't have an ISBN. I looked.
