I don't really know why you'd be here. I mean, I know I'm the single most interesting person, but don't you people have lives? Really, it's quite sad.

"Of course if she tells me the story of how Jackson cultivates his own mealworms to help fertilize his plants one more time, I'm going to Romeo and Juliet them both."

Sheesh people you'd think I hadn't posted here in almost a month or something. ;-) I blame Paul, I really do. OK, and me. Yeah. Paul and me. We're addicted to each other. Seriously, we've talked about this. We're thinking of starting support groups for each other--I'd be his support group for his addiction to me and he'd be my support group for my addiction to him. Yeah, we're sickening, we know, but it's oh, so wonderful and I can't remember a time when I was so happy.

Only two things could make my life happier right now:

1) I get a job. I have been working on this like mad and still nothing, but some pretty good leads that I'd love to turn into interviews: the Ames Public Library Foundation is looking for a Development Director (fundraising/PR) to work 20hrs a week making, get this, $25,000-$30,000 a year. Can you say "yes, please!"? I can, but I'm sure it won't make a difference. KZZQ, the Christian radio station in Waukee (western suburb of Des Moines) is looking for a full-time Development Director much like the APL Foundation only involving more PR responsibilities. I don't know what it would pay and if I'd want to commute there or what, but it never hurts to explore the option. Then there's an Administrative Assistant position with Northwestern Mutual Insurance here in Ames, which seems like a really nice place and people. And I'm really trying to get hooked up with some freelance proofreading at Blackwell Publishing Professional to start getting good experience so that I can maybe do what I really want to, which is proofreading novels. Paul's really been encouraging me to do that because of how much I want to do it and because it would make my time more flexible for random trips he likes to take, while still making money. Oh, and I didn't get the job in Denison, but I'm really good with that. :-)

2) Move out. I've actually been working on this one, too. Unfortunately, it's something that I should really have more of a job before doing. I have my sights set on the extra room in Sharon's house if her parents are cool with it. I think I'm gonna look for a job somewhere like Culver's for the interim while still trying to land a good job so that I could pay for that room.
