LAKELAND/BLUE SPRING STATE PARK/ROCKLEDGE/MIAMI BEACH- Nov. 28, 2004.

Mmmmm... lilypads... On Mirror Lake in downtown Lakeland.

Skyward view in Blue Spring State Park. Leafy.

I think this sign speaks for itself. Don't harrass the
manatees, you little whipper-snappers! If only we had
had some manatees to harrass... :-(

The boardwalk trail along the spring.

A quite old disc golf sign at the Rockledge Disc Golf
Course, apparently because it was the first PDGA course
in Florida.

Hehe. Funny photo. This is at Tee #1.

Okay, so here's the thing about palm trees: they look
real purty and all, but if you'll notice, the way they're
built is just perfect for catching flying things like discs
and not letting them fall. And if you're not having the
smartest moment, you might throw two additional discs up
there in an attempt to knock the first one down, and then
lodge both of those up there, too (including your most
expensive one). I could maybe see the second one, but the
third was just plain idiotic. Luckily a hurricane had passed
through a couple months prior, so there was debris around,
including a (barely) long enough stick thingy Josh could use
to get his discs down, which he somehow did successfully.
All three. It was the miracle of our trip.

The point of this photo is the sign, or lack thereof,
to be more specific. This was somewhere around Cocoa Beach,
which is on a barrier island on Florida's east coast. This
type of blown-out sign was something we saw EVERYWHERE
'round these parts as a result of the hurricanes.

Downtown Miami. I just love looking at cities at night.

Classic Art Deco in South Beach.

The colored lights in the windows of this building were constantly
changing, as evidenced by these two quick shots. I like the second one best.

This is Espanola Way, the little pedestrian street outside
our hotel, lined with shops and restaurants and lights,
and where we ate "dinner" (more like a midnight snack).

More specifically where we (I) ate dinner. Comfy chairs.
I look completely out of it and I haven't even started
on my Sex on the Beach yet (you were right, Kaly, VERY yummy).

The view from our hotel room balcony.
