I don't really know why you'd be here. I mean, I know I'm the single most interesting person, but don't you people have lives? Really, it's quite sad.

WBB: No. 19 Iowa State 72, No. 13 Texas 69
MBB: Iowa State 92, No. 20 Texas 80
Disc Golf: Paul +10, Karly +30

WBB: What a great game with great seats. Get this, Paul and I got there with less than half an hour until tip-off and our usual seats from back when I had a season ticket and everything were completely empty....the whole row was and it's still student seating! And on the way out, we ran into Sarah--like, my sister Sarah who hasn't worked at Iowa State Center for probably 6 months, she said. YAY for Iowa State Women's Basketball!

MBB: Kinda wish we'd watched this game now as it apparently went into overtime, which is how we were afraid the Women's game would go. Oh yeah, and this one was AT Texas. Your team went down today, Ryan....oh, and look at who did it: harmless little Iowa State, right? ;-) YAY for Iowa State Men's Basketball!

Disc Golf: It was muddy and getting dark so we only played 15 holes (skipped 14-16), but play we did. Then Paul sledded down 18 on one of his discs, making for rather humorous butt pictures later (cuz you know I love my butt pictures). Tried to call ya moM and daD, but there weren't nobody home. Oh, and Beth, you were right, I needed a Cyclone. My two new discs got nicely christened today. YAY for nice weather!

Last, but certainly not least: I have two interviews next week. Monday at Subway in Story City because I'm a little desperate right now. ;-) And Tuesday at Ames Community Bank where I had applied for a teller position, which has now been filled, but they apparently had an opening in their operations department and were wondering if I'd be interested in talking to them about it. I don't know what the position is exactly and probably should have asked, but it sounds potentially much better than the teller position. We will see on Tuesday. YAY for people looking at you for more than just what you applied for!

Life is good. :-D

I will never forget the day Johnny Carson called Mr. Troeger.

I was in Mr. Troeger's 8th period Earth Science class (my favorite class) my freshmen year of high school. One day we got to class and he had a story to tell us from an earlier class. He was in the middle of teaching when the phone rang. Now, he hated [he's retired now] being interrupted by phone calls during class, so he answered the phone a little irritatedly. On the other end, he hears, "Is this Jack Troeger?" "Yes." "Hi, Jack, this is Johnny Carson." Apparently, Johnny had an interest in astronomy so Mr. Troeger had written to him about donating money to help him buy new telescopes for Ames High. Mr. Troeger was floating on air that afternoon and I do believe Mr. Carson donated some money.
